Fire Crew Hot Springs

Description

If you have to choose between Rocky Canyon Hot Springs or Fire Crew, go with Rocky Canyon all day long. But if its winter or the river crossing for Rocky Canyon isn't your thing then it's definitely possible to have a great time here.

While right next to Trail Creek campground (which is confusing if you know hot springs), I've never found Fire Crew to be too busy, and its definitely got plenty of small pools. Most of the pools aren't useable without some work, but there are a few really nice large ones that you should be able to just plop down in. Be sure to check the temperature before you get in them, as the source is definitely hot enough to burn.

Keep In Mind

The road to Fire Crew Hot Springs is generally pretty good, but the last few hundred feet down into the campground area has become very rutted, so think about bringing a capable vehicle, or at least park on the road above the campground.

Directions

Fire Crew Hot Springs is located about 17.3 miles from Crouch, ID. Drive through Crouch, have lunch at the Dirty Shame Saloon, and continue through town. After around 17.3 miles keep an eye out for the dirt road to fork and go down to the left. There are a couple other forks around here, so you'll know you're on the right path if after a few hundred feet you hit a campground on the left and some small parking areas on the right between the bushes. Park in these parking areas at the beginning of the campground and head to the right towards the river, you'll see the hot springs down there pretty quickly.
